SHIRLEY ROBINSON ASHLAND, Ky. — Shirley Leadingham Robinson, 86, of Ashland, widow of James C. Robinson, died Saturday, Janurary 7, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. She and James lived over 31 years in Dehue, W.Va., where they raised their two sons and made their living before retiring to Summit, Kentucky. Shirley was the daughter of the late William and Jeston Leadingham, born Aug. 27, 1930. She was also preceded in death by five brothers, George, Charles, Robert, Raymond, Eugene, and two sisters, Bonnie Stathes and Pauline Leadingham. She was educated in Boyd County, Kentucky and was a member of Hoods Creek Enterprise Baptist Church where she loved to sing in the choir for as long as she was able. Surviving include two sons, James M. Robinson (Pam) of Cape Coral, Fla. and Charles David Robinson (Kim) of Huntington, W.Va. Eight sisters, Gladys Tipton, Betty Wheeler, Janice Wheeler, Laura Ripenhoff, Eula Green (Charles), Ina Salyers (Ronnie), Patricia Jarrett (Charles). Five grandchildren, Joshua Robinson (Katie), Joseph Robinson, Lindsay Robinson, Charles Robinson II (Jessica), Natalie Keaton (Ryan). Seven great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. There are many nieces and nephews including one very special niece, Teresa Snyder, who drove for her, shopped for her and provided companionship and love for the past several years. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 11th, at 11 a.m. at Preston Family Funeral Home, 3526 State Route 5, Ashland, with Tim Porter and Leo Ison officiating clergy. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park, Ashland, Kentucky. Friends may visit at the funeral home, Tuesday, January 10, from 6 – 8 p.m. Contributions may be made, in Shirley's memory, to Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Avenue, Ashland, Ky. 41101 or the Hoods Creek Enterprise Baptist Church, 2922 State Route 5, Ashland, Ky. 41102.
