Shirley M. Haslup
Shirley M. Haslup, 89, of Hatboro, passed away peacefully at home on October 16, 2016. She was the wife of the late Norman L. Haslup, who passed away in 1990. Born March 30, 1927 in Norristown, PA she was the daughter of the late William G. and the late Ella S. (nee Bartlett) Stoll. She was a 1945 graduate of Lansdale High School, and had previously been employed for ten years by the Solid State Scientific Company. Shirley enjoyed knitting, crocheting, ball room dancing, painting, gardening, and working in her yard. Shirley is survived by her children, Norman Haslup, Jr. (Helen), of Hatfield, Leanne Vanderslice (David), of Hatboro, and James Haslup, of Lansdale, her grandchildren, Patrick Haslup, Stephanie Haslup-Bryant, Derek Vanderslice, and Jason Vanderslice, and her four great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her son, the late William Haslup. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Thursday evening, October 20, 2016 from 6:00-7:30 PM at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Avenue, Lansdale, PA 19446 where her Memorial Service will be held at 7:30 PM. Burial will be held privately by her family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Shirley’s name can be made to Abington Memorial Hospice, 2510 Maryland Road, Suite 250, Willow Grove, PA 19090 and would be deeply appreciated by her family.
