Shirley A. Gould
Shirley A. Gould, 80, of Butler passed away at 8:40 a.m. Sunday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice. She was born June 2, 1936, in Butler, to the late Jesse Boyd Dauben-speck and the late Grace Lee Daubenspeck. Shirley in her earlier years worked at Mellon Bank. She then went on to be a secretary at Betty Guthries. Shirley ended her working career as a secretary at the Meridian United Presbyterian Church. Shirley was a graduate of Butler High School in 1954. She was a member of Tops. Shirley enjoyed playing cards and loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Shirley is survived by her husband, Don L. Gould, who she married Aug. 6, 1954; one daughter, Linda Smith, and her husband, Tom, of Herman; four grandchildren, Katie Schultz and her husband, Todd, Sarah Crawford and her husband, Paul, Becky Smith and her fiancé, Austin Baum, and Bill Smith; one great-granddaughter, Adalee Grace Schultz; two sisters, Norma Pritts of Butler and Helen Campbell of Denver; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Greg Gould; two brothers; and two sisters. GOULD - Private funeral services for Shirley A. Gould, who died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, were today at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler, with the Rev. Connie Dunn of the VNA Hospice officiating. Interment will take place at the Butler County Memorial Park. Memorials are suggested to the VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Drive, Butler, PA 16001.
