Schmidt, Shirlee C. Shirlee C. Schmidt, 87, of Sheboygan, WI, Plymouth, MN, Deland, FL, Brookfield, WI, Phoenix, AZ and Long Lake in the Town of Belle Plaine, WI joined her sister and brother early Saturday morning October 8, 2016, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls, WI. Born March 16, 1929 to Ewald Rasmussen and Vernett (Erhgott) Rasmussen, married January 28, 1950 to Thomas E. Schmidt. Worshipped wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother, whose love of family, joy of life and sense of mirth; endeared her to friends and family alike. She enjoyed cooking, travel, sewing, knitting, long drives, playing cards, Friday night fish frys and spending time with family. Throughout her life she played cards, tennis, racquet ball, golf and bowled. Shirlee knitted hats and blankets for newborns at Maple Grove Hospital in Minnesota, Shirlee and her friends also sewed sundresses for girls in Africa. She cross country skied, water skied, and sailed. She recently took a long trip to see her 3rd granddaughter marry and to meet her newest great grandchild. Shirlee is survived by husband Thomas Edward Schmidt, two children, daughter Kathrynsue Schmidt, son Thomas Edward Schmidt II (Cathy); seven grandchildren, Nicole Kleinke (Alan), Christine Schober (Bradley), Markus McDonell (Tania Theil), Sarah (Jared) Olson, Matthew Schmidt and Derek Schober (Jenny); eleven great-grandchildren, three great great-grandchildren. She is further survived by seven nieces, eight nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her sister Mary Ann Wood and brother Richard James Rasmussen. Family and friends may call at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 South 12th Street, Sheboygan on Saturday, October 22, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. A memorial service will be Saturday 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Peter Wood officiating. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Shirlee's name and may directed to the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
