BURNS, Sherry Sherry Burns was born May 17, 1941 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and passed away at home surrounded by family on April 12, 2017 in Irving, TX. Graduating from Tulsa University with a degree in History and Elementary Educa-tion, she was a proud member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. As the wife of a military fighter pilot, Sherry started her family on base in Hawaii, later moved to California, and then settled in Irving where she lived for almost 50 years. After her children were grown, she began a career as an executive assistant at Sunbelt Motivation and Travel where she happily stayed until retirement. Sherry loved traveling the world with her husband of 49 years, Lee Burns. From the back of his Harley, she ventured across the country and made many lasting friendships. Sherry is survived and truly missed by her son Shaun and his children, Caleigh and Alec, and also by her daughter Shelby and her children Jack, Calvin and Sam. Sherry was committed to family and loved the home she spent decades creating. She would want to be remembered as a doting grandmother, a loving mother and a joyfully devoted wife. Memorial services are pending.
