Sherman Harward
1931 ~ 2017 Sherman Dean Harward, devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on January 6th, 2017 in Sandy, Utah. Sherman was born on September 1st, 1931 to the late James Afton Harward and Essie Knight. He served an LDS mission in northern California and loved his lifetime career with the LDS Church Educational System. Teaching was his passion and he received a Ph.D. from Brigham Young University in educational administration. He had a wonderful sense of humor, enjoyed family history research, playing the harmonica, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sarah Fay Houskeeper, and their children, Tina Couvrette, Shelley Nowers, Sherilan Napieralski, Kelly Harward, 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, as well as his brothers Russell and Eldon. He was preceded in death by his son, Sherman Dana Harward. Viewing at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 1007 West South Jordan Parkway, South Jordan, Utah, on Wed, Jan. 11, 2017, from 6-8 pm. Funeral Services at Country Park 5th Ward, 1988 West 11400 South, South Jordan, Utah, on Jan. 12, 2017, viewing 9:45-10-45 am, service at 11:00.
