Sheri Lynn (Robbins) Alger
Sheri Lynn Alger, 52 GORHAM - Sheri "Storm'n Norman" Lynn Alger, 52, passed away Oct. 5, 2016, after a courageous battle against cancer. She was born April 21, 1964, in Bridgton, the daughter of Larry and Dea Dea (Norman) Robbins. After graduating from Lakes Region High School in 1982, she attended Andover College for business administration. She was hard worker, doing whatever she could to provide for her family. She was devoted to her grandchildren. She loved to go to Beech Ridge as a spectator, and even raced one season in the Ladies League of Thursday Thunder. She was an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed camping and snowmobiling. She loved the beach, particularly Old Orchard and Jamaica. Her life was also enriched with her four-legged friends, Coco and Kitty Kitty. She is survived by her grand-children, Skyler Locke and Colby Palmer, of Gorham; her son Joshua Palmer, of Gorham, and his father Michael Palmer, of North Waterboro; her world touring partner Joe Alger, of Gorham; her brothers, Larry Robbins Jr. of Richmond, Va., and Keith Robbins of Cumberland; her sister Kelley Martin, of Scarborough; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her dearest friend Wendy Staples, of North Waterboro; and her special friend and neighbor Bob Doherty, of Gorham. Sheri always loved a good party, so there will be a celebration of life Sunday, Oct. 23, from 1-5 p.m. at the American Legion, Route 25, in Westbrook. Private burial will be Wednesday, Oct. 26, at the Crooked River Cemetery in Naples. Arrangements have been entrusted to Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service, Buxton.
