Shelly Ann Williamson, 45 of New Orleans, La., died Friday, Jan. 20, 2017. Memorial services were Jan. 26, 2017, at the Bible Baptist Church in Dumas, Texas with DeWayne Gion officiating. Arrangements were made by Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas, Texas. Shelly was born March 11, 1971, in Emporia, Kan., to Clark and Patricia Wells. When Shelly was three, the family moved to Amarillo, Texas, where she attended school and graduated from Randall High School. She went on to study at Texas A&M University where she earned her Bachelor and Master of Science Degrees in Chemical Engineering. She was employed by Valero Oil Refinery in Dumas, Texas for 12 years; however, for the past two years, Shelly was the Health, Safety, and Environmental Director (HSE) for Valero's Oil Refinery in Meraux, La. Shelly loved her job and was admired and respected by both her colleagues and Valero's Corporate personnel. Shelly was united in marriage to Darrell Williamson June 12, 1993, in Amarillo, Texas. The couple have one daughter, Madison Williamson Mendez, who was Shelly's pride and joy. Shelly had such a beautiful Christian spirit; and she shared her joy of life with everyone. She always had a smile on her face, and she loved spending time with her family; especially, her granddaughter Hayden, who lit up her world. Shelly touched many lives, and she will be greatly missed. Shelly is survived by her husband, Darrell of the home; daughter, Madison Williamson Mendez and husband, Derek of Dumas, Texas; granddaughter, Hayden Mendez of Dumas, Texas; mother, Patricia Meston Wells of Kuna, Idaho; sister, Sheri Roberts and husband, Jay of Amarillo, Texas; brother, Clark Wells, Jr. of Kuna, Idaho, and his children: Skylar, Johnathen, Cayden and Trista Niece, Shasta Merrill and husband, Kyle and their children–Kooper and Jase, nephew, Jay Roberts, Jr., all from Amarillo, Texas. Shelly was preceded in death by her father, Clark Jerry Wells, Sr. previously of Nampa, Idaho; maternal grandparents, Orvis and Olive Meston of Broken Bow; paternal grandparents, Charles and Clytie Wells who owned properties in both Anselmo and Ansley; deceased aunts, uncles, and cousins include, Uncle Ralph Meston formerly of Orlando, Fla., and his three living children are: Steve Meston and wife, Kimberly of Edmond, Okla.; Chip Meston, and wife Joanna of Bennett, Colo., and Mary Meston of Overland Park, Kan. Uncle John Stuart previously of Palm Desert, Calif. Uncle Clinton Wells and his sons, Dan Clinton and Willie Glenn formerly of Elba. Uncle Clyde Wells previously of St. Paul. Surviving Aunts, Uncles, and cousins include: Aunt Linda Meston of Orlando, Fla. Aunt Barbara Stuart of Palm Desert, Calif; cousin, Elizabeth Stuart of Fisher, Ind., and Jeffrey Stuart and wife, Tina of Bellevue, Wash. Aunt (Tiny) Jeanette Brakeman and Uncle Gary of Colona, Ill., and their children: Jeff Loughran and wife Rose of Williston, N.C.; Teresa Gillian of Rock Island, Ill.; Krissy Brakeman of Gilbert, Ariz.; Holly Cox and husband Larry of Andoder, Ill.; Chad Brakeman and wife Jessie of Davenport Iowa. Aunt Doris Wells and her son, Timothy Wells and wife Pam of Elba. Aunt Barbara Wells of St. Paul, and children: Tracey Kehm and husband, Tom of Grand Island; Connie Posson of Grand Island; Chuck Wells and wife, Rose of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Jamie Wells of Westminster, Colo. Uncle Claude and Aunt Mary of Anselmo, and their children: Candace Wells of Alliance; Cathy Thompson and husband, Jim of Anselmo; Kelly Wells of Anselmo.
