BARTONVILLE ~ Sharon Elaine Harris, 71, of Bartonville, passed away at 4:45 a.m. Friday, October 14, 2016 at UnityPoint Health – Methodist in Peoria. Born November 12, 1944 in Peoria to Elbert Wesley and Anna Nellie (Taylor) Staley, she married Harold William “Bill” Harris on August 29, 1964 in Bartonville. He survives. Also surviving are two sons, Kody (Randi) Harris of Bartonville and Kirk (Michelle) Harris of Marion, Iowa; five grandchildren, Christopher (Megan Pille) Harris of Bartonville, Kaitlyn Harris of Pekin, Paige Harris of Bloomington, Louis Johnson of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Karley Harris of Marion, Iowa; two great-grandchildren, Luke Harris and Oliver Hill; four brothers, Nyle (Linda) Staley, Lyle (Sue) Staley, David (Kay) Staley and George (Mary) Staley and two sisters, Lavada (Cliff) Knepper and Lucille Taylor. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers and one sister. Sharon last worked for Super X Pharmacy in Bartonville as a pharmacy technician. She previously had worked as a grocery clerk for Thompson Food Basket, as a cashier for Walgreens, a monitoring clerk at Sonitrol Security and as a cashier at Bogart’s Drugs. She will be remembered by her family for her loving and sharing spirit, who had a heart of gold. She could be stubborn and ornery at times and enjoyed bowling, camping and collecting all things Coca Cola and Christmas, especially Santa. She also was fond of hummingbirds and loved shopping at Goodwill. Sharon was a member of Faith Missionary Church in Bartonville and attended Astoria Christian Church. No services or visitation are planned. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
