Sharon Lynn Hamilton Evansville, Ind. Sharon Lynn (Carter) Hamilton, 78, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016, at the St. Mary's Medical Center. Sharon was born September 25, 1938, in Tell City, Ind., to the late Ira and Forrest (Hall) Carter and was adopted shortly after birth by the late Owen and Justine (Hall) Lauer. She had worked as a bookkeeper. Sharon was a longtime member and former treasurer of the E'ville Iron Street Rod Club. Surviving Sharon are her husband of 58 years, James M. Hamilton; a daughter, Gail M. Hamilton of Evansville; two sons, James "Keith" (Cynthia) Hamilton of San Antonio, Texas, and Mark A. (Denise) Hamilton of Evansville; a halfsister, Faith (Gary) Wilsher of Harrodsburg, Ky.; grandchildren, Christopher Hamilton, Nicholas Hamilton, Jonathan Hamilton and Collin Hamilton as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her biological and adoptive parents, Sharon was preceded in death by an infant son, Kenneth W. Hamilton; and three brothers, Owen Adrian Lauer, Uriel Carter and Leland Carter. Funeral services for Sharon will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2016, at Pierre Funeral Home, Rev. Jason Gries officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 3 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
