Mrs. Saratha Watts
Mrs. Saratha Watts, 67, Gadsden passed away Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Village Chapel. The Rev. Daryle Nichols will officiate. Burial will follow in Forrest Cemetery. Mrs. Watts was a graduate of Emma Sansom High School. She was a member of Dwight Baptist Church and the Class of Grace. She retired from N.E. Alabama Nephrology. After retirement, she enjoyed gardening, traveling and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing Dominoes with her friends. Mrs. Watts was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Watts; her sister, Martha Barnes; and mother, Myrl Steele. Mrs. Watts is survived by her daughter, Leslie Watts, Gadsden; son, Shane (Miriam) Watts, Orange Beach; grandchildren, Isabella, Will and Mia Watts; sisters, Edwina Jenkins, Mary Jo (Max) Brannon; chosen sisters, Belinda Clanton and Sue Mikle; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Dinky Gibbs. Pallbearers will be Fred Farrar, Ben Farrar, Kyle Chambers, John Rousell, Bobby Clanton, and Danny Mikle. Honorary pallbearers are Class of Grace. Special thanks to all family and friends that had prayed for her during her battle with cancer. Special thanks to Dr. Cara Bondley and all nurses at Bruno Cancer Center at St. Vincents and all the ICU nurses at St. Vincents. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.
