Sarah Davis Taylor LUMBERTON — Sarah Davis Taylor was born on June 22, 1936, to the late Mr. and Mrs. J. Roy Davis of Bladenboro. She passed away on Oct. 8, 2016, at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton, N.C., making her life journey of 80 years. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Antioch Baptist Church, 5089 Old Whiteville Road. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. before the service. The service will be officiated by the Revs. Mark Meadows and Keith Eggert. Burial will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens. Mrs. Taylor was married to the love of her life on May 14, 1950, to William Osborne Taylor Sr., whom preceded her on Dec. 27, 2011. She was also preceded by her youngest son, Richard Larry Taylor on Aug. 25, 2011. Besides her parents, she was preceded by her three brothers, Roy Edwin Davis (Mildred), A. Roy Davis (Frances) and Luke Davis (Elizabeth); and her in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Austin Taylor. Mrs. Taylor is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Taylor of the home; her son, William Osborne Taylor Jr. "Billy" (Katina Carter) of Lumberton; her grandchildren, Justin Taylor (Jessica) of Lumberton, Candace Taylor and finance Samuel Jones of Lumberton, N.C., Kyhman Taylor of Port Wentworth, Ga., and Cameron Taylor of Lumberton; a special great-granddaughter, Paris Jones of Lumberton; a special daughter-in-law, Lorie Taylor of Lumberton; a brother-in-law, Erwin Taylor of Lumberton; two sister-in-laws, Monique Taylor of Lumberton and Mary C. Deters of Pinehurst; two nieces and four nephews; two special friends, Morris and Sue Bennett; and many family and friends. Sarah worked in the food industry for over 40 years. She retired from the North Carolina Baptist Assembly at Fort Caswell after many years of service.
