Sarah E. Hancock, 83, of Dillsburg, passed away Monday, February 13, 2017, at Elmcroft Assisted Living, Dillsburg. She was born November 16, 1933, in Montour County, PA, the daughter of the late Frederick and Anna (Roush) Schenck. Sarah was the widow of Charles R. "Pete" Hancock, Jr. She is survived by her only son, Charles R. Hancock, III and her dearly loved daughter-in-law Sherry; her only granddaughter, Holly Shoffner and her husband Kurtus of Dillsburg; and only great-grandson, Lucas Shoffner; two brothers, Charles "Jim" Schenck of Linden; David Schenck of New Columbia; three sisters, twins Jean Schenck of Danville and Jane Long of Bloomsburg, and Penny Pflegar of Danville. Sarah was a Notary Public and was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Post #109, Mechanicsburg and the South Mountain V.F.W. Post #6771, Dillsburg. Services will be held Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg. A viewing will be held Tuesday from 10-11 am at the funeral home. Entombment will be held in the Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Worriers Project, P. O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
