BEAVERCREEK — Sandra Lynn Hunter, age 69, of Beavercreek, Ohio passed away October 11, 2016. She was born February 3, 1947 in Huntsville Alabama. She graduated from Wright State University summa cume laude in 1970. She began her career as a personal management specialist and quickly rose through the ranks. She earned many awards during her forty year career, including the meritorious civilian service award for exemplary service to the Air Force in 2004. When she retired in 2006, she was responsible for position classification and internal staffing for all of the Aeronautical Systems Center and the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio. Sandra enjoyed following politics, the stock market, interior design and visiting with friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Major Mack Hunter and Martha Hunter of Fairborn, Ohio. She is survived by her brother, Mack (Buz) Hunter of Seattle, Washington and her sister, Sue Hunter, of Sugarcreek Township, Ohio. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff of Crossroads Hospice and Trinity Community of Beavercreek for their care. The family also thanks the wonderful friends that brought cheer to Sandra with their faithful visits during her illness. Sandra was cherished by her family and friends and will be greatly missed. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 10:00am to 10:30am at the Belton- Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton Yellow Spring Rd, Fairborn, OH 45324 followed by a memorial service from 10:30am to 11:00am. Friends are invited to join the family immediately following the service for a short graveside prayer at Bryon Cemetery, Beavercreek, Ohio.
