Samuel Keith Pound, 68, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County. He was born in Tupelo, MS. He graduated from Pontotoc High School and worked at Pontotoc Electric Power Association for 38 years. He enjoyed raising cattle, wood working, deer hunting and spending time with family and friends and especially his grandchildren. Services will be Friday, October 14, 2016 at 2PM at Longview Baptist Church. Bro. Drew Richardson and Bro. Clyde Pound will officiate. Burial will follow in Longview Cemetery. Baldwin Memorial Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of arrangements. Survivors: his wife-Janice Hamblin Pound; son-Brian Pound; daughters-Carla Howe(Burney), Bonnie Wilson and Angie Rooker, special daughter in law-Carla Cox; step daughter-Tammy Matthews and stepson-Greg Cox - all of Pontotoc; grandchildren-Valerie Tutor, Corie Lucroy, Drake Merritt, Dayn Wilson, Blake Rooker, Kaylee Carpenter, Lindsey Cox Brown(Chas), Coley Cox, Hayden Cox and Dillon Matthews; great granddaughter-Waverly Jane Brown; siblings-Charles Andy Pound of Breaman, GA, Clyde Pound(Lynda), Tommy Pound(Patricia), Mitchell Pound(Debbie) and Regina Boyd(Barry) - all of Pontotoc; a host of nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: wife-Peggy Day Pound; parents-Quitman and Bertha Frost Pound; brother-Bill Pound, sisters in law-Rosemary Pound and Dollie Pound; nephew-Michael Pound and mother in law-Lillie Ruth Day. Pallbearers: Andy Pound, Chuck Pound, Clyde Pound, Brian Pound, Tommy Pound, Burney Howe, Mitchell Pound and Barry Boyd. Honorary Pallbearers: Corie Lucroy, Drake Merritt, Dayn Wilson, Blake Rooker, Dillon Matthews, Coley Cox, Hayden Cox, Maffett Pound, Roger Witt, Rodney Crawford and PEPA coworkers. Vistiation will be Thursday, October 13, 2016 5-9PM at Longview Baptist Church and Friday, October 14, 2016 12PM until service time at Longview Baptist Church.
