Samuel Lindsay Cave
Samuel Lindsay Cave, 85, of Mechanicsville, died on October 10, 2016. He was born on October 14, 1930, to the late Samuel Winston and Alyce Graves Cave of the Bibb's Store community. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; a son, Samuel Lindsay Cave Jr., of Springfield; a daughter, Dorothy Cave Leon of Nebo, North Carolina; and three grandchildren, Patrick Mitchell of Herndon, Samara Abbott of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Molly Abbott of Taylor, South Carolina; his sisters, Violet Cave Varner of Richmond and Louise Cave Walton of Keysville. Also surviving are four stepchildren and their families. He was predeceased by brothers-in-law, Wayne E. Varner and Charles Ray Walton. Lindsay was a 1948 graduate of Louisa County High School, and was employed in management with A&P for a number of years and later with Ukrops. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and growing a big garden and sharing it with family, friends and neighbors. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, October 12, at Signal Hill Memorial Park in Hanover.
