SIDNEY — Ruth "Jeanne" Lonsbury, age 87, of Sidney, passed away Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, at 8:10 a.m. at Fair Haven Shelby County Home. She was born on Dec. 3, 1928, in Sidney, Ohio, the daughter of the late Thomas F. and Ruth (Klipstine) Studevant. On July 3, 1948, she married William K. Lonsbury who preceded her in death April 4, 2005. Jeanne is survived by three children, William T. (Suzann) Lonsbury of Sidney, Robert L. (Teresa) Lonsbury of Centerville, and Judith A. (Daniel) Kolhoff of Toledo; eight grandchildren, Dawn (Brandon) Roberts of Sidney, Jason (Stacy) Lonsbury of Maineville, Heather Kolhoff of New Berlin, Wisconsin, Kyle Lonsbury of Centerville, John Kolhoff of Toledo, and Jared Lonsbury of Centerville; two step-grandchildren, Joe (Tonya) Whitman of Findlay, and Emily (Tim) Wills of Maineville; eight great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; special neices, Lorrie (Dick) Frisby, Chardie Shatto, and Dorian (Marty) Slivka, and many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia Sellari, and Mary Jacobs; three brothers, Bill, Tom and Jack Studevant; two grandsons, Brett William Lonsbury and Daniel Leigh Kolhoff; and one granddaughter-in-law, Crystal Lonsbury. Mrs. Lonsbury was a 1946 Sidney High School graduate and attended Mt. Union College, where she was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She retired as Branch Manager from Bank One and later worked for The Spot Catering. Over the years she served in Charity League, Child Guidance, Football Moms, Parkwood PTA, and was a Boy Scout and Girl Scout Leader. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Women of the Moose, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Jeanne loved spending time with her family, watching sports, especially the grandchildren's, and reading. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016, at noon at St. John's Lutheran Church, 120 W. Water St., Sidney, with Rev. David Buckenroth officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney. The family will receive friends, at the church, on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., Sidney. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Wilson Hospice or a charity of the donor's choice.
