Ruth Anderson
Ruth Anderson, 86 of Amenia, ND died Monday, October 17, 2016 at Eventide of Fargo. Ruth Evelyn Kingsley was born, October 20, 1929 to Walter and Roxy (Brace) Kingsley of Wheatland. She attended elementary and high school at Wheatland, ND, graduating in 1947. She attended Valley City Teachers College for one year. Ruth was united in marriage to Kenneth Anderson on June 3, 1950, at the Wheatland Methodist Church. They made their home on a farm northwest of Amenia. Kenneth died in 2000. In 2011, Ruth moved into Casselwood in Casselton for the winter, liking it so much she stayed there, until moving to Eventide in 2016. Prior to her marriage, Ruth worked at the bank in Casselton. She enjoyed music and singing. She was a Sunday school teacher and involved in many church activities at Herby Lutheran. She loved gardening and her flowers and was a member of the Green Thumb Garden Club and the Amenia Homemakers' Club. She is survived by three daughters: Christine (Larry) Insley of Creighton, SD; Linda (Ken) Astrup of Jamestown, ND and Ruth Ann Killpack of Ft. Collins, CO; five grandchildren, Aaron (Olivia) Insley of Kalispell, MT, Stacy (Todd) Klein of Winfred, SD, Eric (Tennley Vik) Astrup of Emporia, KS, Jason (Jamie) Astrup of Mapleton, ND and Kimberly Astrup of Fargo ND, and seven great grandchildren: Shiloh Insley, Hayz, Elli Jo and Newt Klein, Carsten, Siri and Soren Astrup; sister Eleanor Punton of Fargo, ND; sister in-laws Connie Kingsley and Eunice West and brother-in-law Carl Anderson, all of Fargo, ND; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Ken, son-in-law Jim Killpack, brother Truman Kingsley, brother-in-laws Arthur Punton and John West, sisters-in-law Eva Anderson and Jenny Mae Anderson and her parents Walter and Roxy Kingsley. The family would like to thank the staff of Eventide and Hospice of the Red River Valley for their kind and considerate care. The family would prefer memorials to Herby Lutheran Church, Wheatland Cemetery or Hospice of the Red River Valley. Prayer Service: Friday, Oct. 21, 2016 at 7 PM (visitation 5 to 7 PM) at West Funeral Home and Life Tribute Center in West Fargo.
