Ruby Jean Franks Miller, 89, of Dunbar, passed away Monday, Oct. 10, 2016 with her loving granddaughter at her side. She was born Feb. 9, 1927, in Denbo, a daughter of the late Kenneth Franks and Clara Falcon Franks. She was a licensed practical nurse and worked at Uniontown Hospital as a surgical nurse in the O.R. for several years before doing private duty, then retired from Mt. Saint Macrina. After retirement she worked at Connellsville School District Administration Office, and then did research for Penn State Coal and Coke Museum, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She was a member of Connellsville Dames of Malta, the Franklin Memorial United Methodist Church, of Dunbar, and formally a member of the Good Samaritan Sunday School Class. Ruby enjoyed traveling with her husband and especially going to the Red Devils Reunions. In addition to her parents, and husband, John M Miller, (1989), she was preceded in death by sister-in-law, Mabel Miller Smell. She is survived by a son, Kenneth John Miller and wife Bobbi, of Florida; granddaughter, Rhanda Rae Miller, at home, whom she raised; grandson, Kenneth John (KJ) Miller, of Alabama; sister, Marlene (Jack) Eans; nephew, Richard (Judy) Eans; niece, Cathy Vincent; several nieces and nephews. Ruby Jean's family will greet friends in BURHANS CROUSE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Connellsville St., Dunbar, Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the hour of service with Pastor Roger Yeager officiating.
