Royce Wendell Barton was reunited with his beloved wife and heavenly Father on Wednesday, October 12, 2016. Royce was born January 15, 1929 in Clyde, Texas to the late Alexander Barton and Elizabeth Bell Judd Barton. Royce was raised in Clyde where he met the love of his life and wife of 57 years, Betty L. Broom Barton. In 1954, they relocated to El Paso, Texas, where he owned and operated several businesses in Fabens and in the El Paso area. Royce was the best "Pa" anybody could ask for, and found the greatest joy in making his grandchildren and great-grandchildren smile and laugh. He always had a warm smile and friendly handshake for those around him and will be remembered for his sincere generosity. Royce was a Master Mason and member of the Ysleta Masonic Lodge No. 1333. Each morning, he could be found sitting around the coffee shop table enjoying the company of his friends and family. Over the last eight years, Royce enjoyed spending his days with his long-time friend Selette Surratt. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty in 2008, his parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Royce is survived by his children: son Mike Barton and wife Jean and daughter Libby Tidwell; four grandchildren: Wesley Tidwell and wife Kristin, Justin Tidwell, Brittney Barton, and Carlee Barton: and two great-grandchildren Emily and Zachary Tidwell.
