Rosemary Hines lost her long battle with cancer. She was born in Huron, Kan. Survivors include her husband, John Hines; a daughter, Karen Dirks (Kelly), of Longmont; a son, Kevin Augustus, of Lawrence, Kan.; granddaughters, Kristina Streeter (Ryan), of Whitehall, Pa., and granddaughter Kylie Dirks of Longmont; a grandson, Tyler Gist, of Lawrence; great-grandchildren, Ainsley and Brayson Streeter, Alyssa and Hunter Gist. Rosemary led a very full life, raised her family in Lawrence after completing high school. Rosemary worked several years at the Presbyterian Manor in Lawrence. After moving to Colorado in 1991 and marrying John Hines, she went back to school and got her certified medical assistant degree. She went to work in family practice doctor's office and, for a time at National Jewish Hospital before retiring. After retiring John and Rosemary volunteered at the Brighton Senior Center. She enjoyed all the interacting with the people there. She helped in office, served lunch, baked for the bake sales and quilted items for Brighton Elks auctions. Rosemary and John went on several trips with the center and bus trips and met a lot of super nice people. Of course, she took hundreds of photos. Rosemary continued with her love of crafts, card making, quilting, photography and scrapbooking. God has called a beautiful lady home. She will be with our four-legged son that was called earlier and will meet her. Visitation and funeral services were April 14 at Brighton United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers donations to the Eagle View Adult Center and/or Brighton United Methodist Church are requested. Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemeter of Thornton handled the arrangements.
