Born in 1930, to Rosa and Robert Dennis Gibbons, Rosemary grew up just a few blocks from Lakeside Amusement Park. Her mother owned the Sheridan Inn, just across from Lakeside, so she met many celebrities, including actress/singer Dorothy Lamour, band leader Herbie Kaye and her own uncle, Ace Greunig, one of the NBA's first great men who played on the Nuggets/Piggly Wiggly team in the early 40's. Holy Family was Rosemary's church growing up, and where she would eventually get married. She went to Holy Family Grade School and then North High School. She loved to paddle boat in City Park and enjoyed her sodas at the drug store she worked at. She had 5 children: Tom, Terry, Pat, Maureen, and Celia, moving from state to state every time her husband received a promotion: California, Arizona, New Mexico, Vermont, Virginia, and finally they back to Colorado. After 2 years in Arvada, they moved to Longmont, where they lived for more than 40 years. She worked for N I S T in Boulder as an administrative assistant, and was a volunteer at Longmont United Hospital and the Humane Society. She loved spending time with her grandkids, checking out garage sales and eating at Country Buffet, and listening to the radio! She loved the dice and the slots. Her caregivers loved her smile, and loved to fix her beautiful long silky hair every day. Rosemary was a naturally beautiful woman, she was simple, had great integrity - we will always have her in our hearts.
