Rosemary Breslin Balliet Rosemary Breslin Balliett, 88, of State College, died Thursday, Oct. 13, in the Mt. Nittany Medical Center, State College. Born on March 24, 1927, in Lansford, she was a daughter of the late Carl W. and Marguerite (McLaughlin) Dunkelberger. She was a 1945 graduate of the former Lansford High School. Nicknamed "The Irish Rose" by her friends and family, she was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, where she was known for her cheerful smile and strong faith. She was a loving, devoted mother who enjoyed reading and was famous for her frequent correspondence with family and friends.Surviving are a daughter, Julia Breslin Furnary (husband Anthony) of Portland, OR; a daughter-in-law, Maureen Breslin of Highland, N.Y.; and six grandchildren, Alicia, James, Siobhan and Tristan Furnary, Sister Mary Strength of Martyrs and Matthew Breslin. She was also preceded in death by a son, Alex M. Breslin, who died Nov. 19, 2004. Service: Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24, St. Augustine Parish, 55 Main St., Highland, N.Y., with the Rev. Thomas Lutz officiating. Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery, Marlboro, N.Y. A church service will be held in State College at a later date.
