WILKES-BARRE — Rose Marie (Stella) Hanas, 81, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, at Celtic Hospice Inpatient Unit at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre. Born in Hilldale, she was the daughter of the late Professor William Angelo and Elizabeth (Dieso) Stella. Rose Marie was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School. Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Hanas, who died in 1980; brothers, Angelo and Anthony; sisters, Elizabeth Levin, Dolores Occhiato; son-in-law, Gregory Olbryk; friend, Henry Owens. Surviving are her daughters, Rosalie Olbryk, of Pittston, Elaine Elick and husband, Donald, of Wilkes-Barre; brothers, William (Nunnie) and wife, Cathy, of Edison, N.Y., Gregory and wife, Carole, of Plains Township, Matthew, of Morristown, N.J.; sister-in-law, Bernie Stella, of Hudson; grandchildren, Priscilla Olbryk and Lacey Olbryk; great-granddaughter, Isabella Marriggi (the light of her life); nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday from the Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main St., Plains Township, with the V. Rev. David Shewczyk, of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, Wilkes-Barre, officiating. Interment in Fern Knoll Burial Park Dallas. Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, with Parastas at 5:30 p.m., with Father Shewczyk officiating.
