Roseanne DeRose, 93, of Vandergrift, passed away peacefully Friday, Jan. 13, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Sept. 26, 1923, in Vandergrift, to the late Saverio and Maria (Concilla) Manganello. Mrs. DeRose was a graduate of Vandergrift High School. As a child living in Vandergrift, she enjoyed working in the family business, Manganello's Market. Living in Vandergrift her entire life, she also worked part time at the Westmoreland Community College, as well as the retail card and gift shop called Everything Nice. She was a member of St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church. As an active woman in the community, she was involved in the social and service division of the Vandergrift Women's Club. She enjoyed life and loved to spend time with her daughter and grandchildren. She would always be out driving, shopping and socializing. She also loved a good game of Gin Rummy, cooking and entertaining. If she wasn't preparing a meal at home, she was out dining and dancing with her husband. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Joseph C. DeRose; her three brothers, James, Joseph and Leonard Manganello; and four sisters, Mary Sciullo, Frances Troiano, Josephine Silvestri and Gloria Capretto. She is survived by her daughter, Patrice J. (De Rose) Speranza, of Allegheny Township, and her fiance, Charles Lombardo; and her three grandchildren, Alison (Casey) McGrath, of Hoboken, N.J., Nina (Nicholas) Juricich, of North Huntingdon, and Joseph (Sylvia Bedick) Speranza, of Avonmore, as well as several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017, in the BRADY-CURRAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES INC., 429 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, in St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church, 303 Franklin Ave., with Father James Loew, OSB, as celebrant.
