In memory of
Rosa Elizabeth DEITZ
DEITZ, Rosa Elizabeth Rosa Elizabeth Deitz (Betty), 95, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 28, 2017, at home in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Betty was born in December 1921 in New Brunswick, New Jersey, to Nichlas and Rose Krauzer. She lost both her parents at an early age causing her to enter the workforce early, and she and her sisters helped her brother to attend Harvard; an achievement they were all very proud of. Betty married George Arthur Deitz, Sr. in 1945 and they had three children. The family lived in New Brunswick and had a summer home on the Jersey Shore where her husband's passion for boating brought the family to South Florida. They all fell in love with life in West Palm Beach and eventually moved there full-time in 1954. As she raised her children, Betty devoted herself to every aspect of their lives. Following the death of her husband, she began her career as a bookkeeper at age 49 and had many Palm Beach residents as clients. Betty's warm and loving nature showed in her devotion to her four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and she never missed an opportunity to attend their many activities and sports events. Some of Betty's many hobbies included traveling, reading, bridge, crossword puzzles, and her true passions, sewing. With pure enjoyment, she created and designed everything from everyday to formal wear for her daughters. Her strength and dignity in facing the tragic losses of her parents, her husband and two of her three children was evidenced by her quiet resilience, making her the guiding light of our family. Betty is survived by her daughter, Beverly D. Broberg and husband Peter of Palm Beach, her beloved grandchildren, Beverly G. Waugh and her husband, Ray, Elizabeth S. Broberg, Erik S. Broberg, and Teri Miller, as well as her cherished great-grandchildren Beverly (Bebe) Gardner and Courtney Gardner, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband George, Betty was predeceased by her son George A. Deitz, Jr. (Skip), daughter Kimberly D. Sellers, her brother Nick Krauzer, and her sisters Louise Cassady and Ann Gray. The family is forever grateful to Betty's compassionate caregivers, Glenis Bailey, Judith Stephens and Donna Thomas. A celebration of Betty's life will be held at the Church of Bethesda-By-The-Sea, 141 South County Road, Palm Beach, on Friday, February 17th at 1:00 p.m.. Donations can be made in Betty's memory to Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League. To express condolences and/or make donations: Visit PalmBeachPost.com/obituaries
