Ronald D. "Ronnie" Skinner
Funeral services for Ronald D. "Ronnie" Skinner, 53, of Lufkin, will be held Friday, October 14, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Harmony Hill Baptist Church with Brother Wes Miller and Brother Don Wayne Crager officiating. Interment will follow in the Largent Cemetery. Mr. Skinner was born December 5, 1962 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Arbra Lerlean (Seymore) and Charlie Dale Skinner, and died Sunday, October 9, 2016 at his residence. Mr. Skinner was a lifetime resident of Lufkin and a 1981 graduate of Lufkin High School, where he played baseball in 1980 and 1981. He had been an engineer at Union Pacific Railroad for 19 years and was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen Division 910. Mr. Skinner loved deer hunting, golfing, and his best bud, Ryan. Survivors include his son, Ryan Skinner of Hudson; father and stepmother, Charlie Dale and Joyce Skinner of Lufkin; sisters and brother-in-law, Kathy Gafford and Gail and Norm Philippi, all of Lufkin; nephew, Chad Cogburn of Florida; special friend, Brittany Fisher and her daughter Sophia of Lufkin; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lerlean Skinner. Pallbearers will be Russell Harvey, Don Wayne Crager, Ed Ware, Dana Henson, Robert Skinner and Stacy Seymore. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lufkin Panther Baseball Fan Club, P.O. Box 2213, Lufkin, Texas 75902.
