Ronald L. Sabot
Ronald Lee Sabot, 67, of Indianola, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017, in West Penn Hospital Hospice Unit suffering from heart failure. Our beloved Ronald was born Oct. 4, 1949, in New Kensington. He was a decorated Vietnam War veteran, having served with the Army. His awards include the Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with three Bronze Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon with Device and the Sharpshooter Badge. Ron is survived by his daughters, Anna (Brian) Fields and Rachelle Sabot; grandchildren, Brianna Fields, Bryce Fields and Tyler Stunja; sister, Shirley Ann Adams; nephews, Sean and Kevin Adams; stepsister, Tammy Welch; his pet, Trip; and great friend, Jimmy Smith, who helped care for Ronald the past several years. Ronald was preceded in death by his father, Frank Sabot; and grandparents, Peter and Anna Sabot. Ceremony and burial will take place 1 p.m. April 18, 2017, at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville. Ronald will receive full military honors, folding of the flag and gun salute to honor his dedication and commitment that forever changed his life.
