Born to Agnes and Lyle Koester in Arcadia Wisconsin, Ron spent his youth in Minnesota and Wisconsin. During WWII the family relocated to Richmond, California for work where Ron attended junior high school and made many lifelong friends. After the war the family moved to Ellensburg, Washington. Ron finished high school in Ellensburg and except for a tour of service in the US Navy, lived in Ellensburg until 2015 when he moved to Kent, WA to be closer to his daughters. They also crossed the country several times with their truck and travel trailer. Raising his family Ron could be found supporting his daughters at their horse shows, taking them water skiing and snow skiing. He built jumps for the horse shows, helped care for the horses and loved watching his daughters ride and compete. He taught many family members and friends to water ski behind his Bell Boy outboard boat and the family always spent part of their summer vacations camping and water skiing. Ron also loved model trains, building an extensive model railroad in his basement. He was a member of the Yakima Valley Train Club for many years running his trains and sharing his hobby with the other members. Ron was very proud of his time in the Navy, sharing his stories with anyone who would listen. He traveled to the VA in Seattle for his medical care and loved his doctors, nurses and all the staff. He is survived by his sister Joanne (Dean) Blevins, his twin daughters, Kathi (Ken) Charlton, Kristi (Pete) Zimbelman and his granddaughter Kaira Mae Charlton, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
