Ronald E. DAVIS
DAVIS, Ronald E. Ron Davis of Dunwoody, Georgia passed away peacefully on February 10, 2017. He was born on June 10, 1930 in Atlanta, Georgia. A graduate of Hapeville High School, he met and married his high school sweetheart, Dorothy Hansard Davis. They were married for 66 years. Following four years of active duty in the Air Force during the Korean War, he graduated from Southern Poly Technical School. His career included employment with Baker Audio, Stromberg Carlson, Richardson & Associates as well as being an owner in Atlanta Sound Engineering. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sisters Barbara Davis and Betty Barber; son Kenneth and daughter-in-law Miriam Davis of Alpharetta, Georgia; son David Davis and son-in-law Paul Lee of London, England; daughter Nancy and son-in-law John Cann of Anderson, South Carolina; son Troy and daughter-in-law Julie Davis of Covington, Georgia; eight grandchildren (Mark, Kate, Elizabeth, Nancy Caroline, MaryRuth, Sandy, Rebecca, and Aaron); and a great granddaughter Charlotte. A man of strong faith and active in his church, he was a charter member of Providence Presbyterian Church in Chamblee, Georgia in 1964. He taught Sunday School classes and led weekly devotions at local assisted living centers. Besides his family, Ron loved fishing, gardening and enjoying the changing seasons in Montreat, North Carolina. You could always find him on the deck or the porch with a Bible in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other looking across the mountain tops. A celebration of life memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at Kingswood United Methodist Church. Visitation begins at 2:00 PM with the service at 3:00 PM. The church is located at 5015 Tilly Mill Road, Dunwoody, Ga 30338. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Montreat Conference Center, P.O. Box 969, Montreat, North Carolina 28757.
