Heinen, Romilda "Millie" Romilda A. "Millie" Heinen, age 91, of Kiel died Thursday morning, February 9, 2017 at Aurora Medical Center, Grafton. She was the former Romilda A. Westphalen, born March 6, 1925 in the Town of Eaton daughter of the late Roland & Theckla (Schmitt) Westphalen. She attended Elder Grove grade school. On January 24, 1942 she married Reuben A. Heinen at the Parsonage at St. John's UCC, New Holstein. Together they farmed in the Town of Schleswig from 1946 until 1972. Her husband Reuben preceded her in death on February 28, 1997. Millie had worked at Seifert MFG and later at Tecumseh Products, New Holstein for 18 ½ years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of St. Peter's UCC, Kiel, Eaton Ladies Aid, the"Retiree's At Tecumseh" card club and Senior Citizens Center, Kiel. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and flowers. Millie was greatly involved in researching the genealogy of her family and enjoyed helping many other individuals locate family members history from the past. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and quilting. She made many amazing quilts and afghans for family and numerous dresses for African children. Survivors include three sons; Allen E. Heinen, Leesville, SC, Glen M. (Elaine) Heinen, Valders, Calvin R. Heinen (Sharon Laux), rural Kiel, one daughter-in-law, Barb Heinen, rural Kiel, seven grandchildren; Deanna (John) Schricker, Jesse (Sarah) Heinen, Lisa (David) Woelfel, Nathan Heinen, Tammy (Jay) Pochop, Dustin Heinen (Nicky Bartz) and Carissa Heinen, two step grandchildren; Eric & David, She is further survived by twelve great grandchildren, ten great great grandchildren, brother; Wilbur (Eleanor) Westphalen, Plymouth, four sisters; Armella Sabell, Sheboygan, Evelyn Zeman, Racine, Harriet Kappelmann, Manitowoc, Virginia (Donald) Dickrell, Denmark, WI, brother-in-law; Eugene Heinen, Oostburg along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, Wayne W. Heinen and one grandson, Eric Heinen, brother; Allen (Lorraine) Westphalen, her in-laws; Abraham & Jennie Heinen, brothers-in-law; Melvin Zeman, Carl Kappelman, Thomas Sabell, Harold (Arlene) Heinen, sisters-in-law; Mary Heinen and Eunice Lewis. Funeral services for Millie will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday February 18, 2017 at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home (815 6th St., Kiel) with Christopher Ross officiating. Cremation has taken place and burial will follow in Eaton Cemetery at a later date. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00pm until the time of service. A memorial has been established for Eaton Ladies Aid Association or St. Peter's UCC.
