Rolando Perez-Ayala of Edwardsville passed away Thursday morning, Jan. 12, 2017, at home surrounded by his loving family following an illness. Born April 2, 1959, in Tao Alta, Puerto Rico, Rolando was the son of Aurea Esther Ayala and the late Guillermo Parez. Ronaldo attended the local schools and was a high school graduate. Immigrating to the United States, he resided in the Bronx, N.Y., prior to residing in Edwardsville. He was employed by Y&E Landscaping Inc. of Swoyersville. Rolando was of the Catholic faith, loved coffee, his pet dog, Bandi, and the New York Yankees. He was an avid fan of baseball star Robinson Cano. He adored his nine grandbabies and was always willing to help anyone in any situation. Rolando will be remembered for his joking demeanor and stern attitude when the situation warranted. Surviving are his wife, Celeste Santiago, at home; four sisters and three brothers, all of Puerto Rico; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. The funeral and interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family in Puerto Rico. Arrangements are by the Hugh P.
