Roland R. Fox
FOX, Roland R. USAF Maj., Ret. (Age 84) Roland Rexford Fox was born in Dixmont ME on April 21, 1932. He passed away January 5, 2017. He went to school in Hinkley ME at the Goodwill Home School and Farm from which he graduated. He had fond memories and kept in touch with friends through the years. Roland joined the Air Force in 1952. While stationed in California, he married Mary Tuchfarber. They were together for 26 years until her death. Their children were twins Sandy and Stephen and daughter, Cheryl. Roland was part of an elite squadron for the Strategic Air Command (SAC). His team made history when they won the bombing competition for the U.S. and Great Britain, both in 1958! He was always extremely proud of this feat. The B-52 on display at Fairchild AFB is one of the planes his team flew. Later he married Virginia Cook who also had three children. After being together for several years, they legally adopted each other's grown offspring. Roland was instrumental in building the Oxyfresh Company into a million dollar corporation. He traveled extensively and when he retired (20 years) was the company's only Worldwide Master Director. Roland is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Virginia. His children Sandy (David), Stephen (Sandra), Julie (David), Terence (Lauri), Dennis (Lynette); 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandkids. Also 5 half sisters in ME. Preceding him in death, his mother Mary Jewett, daughter Cheryl and grandson Albert. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 27 at Valley Assembly, 15618 E. Broadway Ave., Spokane Valley, WA. A potluck to follow, please join us!
