Roger E. Stewart
Roger Earl Stewart, 70, Wentzville, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis. Roger was born Aug. 15, 1946, in St. Louis, the son of Earl A. Stewart and wife Bessie M., nee Stulce. He served in the U.S. Navy for six years and in Vietnam. Roger was employed as a paramedic for 20 years and served as a board member of the 911 Emergency Center of Warrenton. He also was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Warrenton. Roger was an active member of Wentzville American Legion Post 323 and president of the Legion Riders. He will be dearly missed by many. Roger was the beloved husband of Susan Stewart, nee Eash, Wentzville. He also is survived by one daughter, Nichole (Robert) Jakob, Holts Summit; one sister, Shirley Sitz, O'Fallon; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl A. and Bessie M. Stewart, and one brother, Donald Stewart. Visitation was scheduled to be held Wednesday, Feb. 15, from 1:30 to 8 p.m. at Pitman Funeral Home, 1545 Wentzville Parkway, Wentzville. A funeral service will be held Thursday, Feb. 16, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to American Legion Post 323, Wentzville, in care of Pitman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 248, Wentzville, MO 63385. The family is being served by Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville.
