Roger H. Finegan
Roger H. Finegan, of West Deptford, New Jersey, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2017. He was 87. Born and raised in Massachusetts, Roger went to Hingham High School and studied in Boston College. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force before moving to West Deptford in 1969. He always had a sense of humor and enjoyed telling jokes. Him and his friends would host wing night to see who could make the hottest wings. Roger was a life member of the Colonial Manor Fire Department and held various titles. In his spare time he enjoyed camping with his family, fishing in Massachusettes, sending his kids on scavenger hunts, golfing and cheering on the Phillies and Boston Red Sox. Roger was also an avid cribbage player. Before retiring, Roger worked for Texaco/Coastal for 25 years. He was the beloved husband of 35 years to the late Rita (nee Coughlin); devoted father of William E. Reagan (Denise), Colleen G. Baker (Luis Marquez), Cynthia A. Klauder (Jim), Virginia L. "Ginny" Finegan, Priscilla M. Finegan and Martha J. Baker (Ralph); loving brother to Sally Parsons (Ronnie) John Finegan and Kenneth Finegan (Mary); loving pop-pop to 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, and uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial Mass January 21, 2017, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 425 Monmouth St., Gloucester City, followed by a traditional Irish wake at the Colonial Manor Fire Hall in West Deptford.
