In memory of
Robyn (Meleski) Carinci
Robyn Meleski Carinci, 52, of 244 Belmont Ave., Oneida, died early Tuesday morning, October 18, 2016, in the comfort of her own home surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Hospice. Robyn was born on February 28, 1964, in Syracuse, the daughter of Alfred and Marcella Fedorsha Meleski. She attended school in North Syracuse and received her BA and Master's Degrees in Education from SUNY Oswego. On August 28, 1993, she married Michael T. Carinci in St. Rose of Lima Church, North Syracuse. For 28 and a half years, Robyn was a 5th grade teacher at Roxboro Road Elementary in the North Syracuse School District until her illness no longer allowed her to work. Robyn was a devoted teacher and mother. An avid sports fan, she loved watching her favorite teams; the NY Yankees, NY Giants Football and SU Basketball. Her ultimate joy was watching her sons play for Oneida High School in Football, Basketball and Baseball. She was at every game and even served as an active team mother for her son's travel sports teams. She was the team organizer and surrogate mom for the Thunder AAU Basketball Team consisting of Oneida and VVS players. She enjoyed watching the transformation of Oneida and VVS players go from extreme rivals to best friends and teammates as the children progressed in age. Robyn was a kind caregiver to everyone she met; a nurturer who only saw the good in others. Her sole purpose on earth was to make others happy. Friendship, loyalty and love were traits that exuded from her every day, especially toward her loving husband, Mike, and her sons, Matthew and Nathan. She is also survived by her father, Alfred, of North Syracuse, her sisters, Barbara Rhea, of Baldwinsville, and Michele (Frank) Terino, of Phoenix; her brothers, Scott (Kim) Meleski, of Vernon and Mark Meleski, of Raleigh, NC; her mother-in-law, Joyce Carinci, of Oneida; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Debra (Jeff) Socha, Army (Wynn) Carinci, Terry (Mike) McCarthy, Anthony (Shari) Carinci, all of Oneida, and Michelle (Steve) Becker, of Oneida Castle, and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.. She was predeceased by her mother, Marcella, on May 2, 2002, and her father-in-law, Army Carinci on October 2, 2013. Mike, Matthew and Nathan would like to thank all of the family, friends and community for the support and love shown to them during Robyn's Illness. A special thanks to her sister, Barb, who traveled with Robyn throughout the medical process. Robyn was truly incredible during her long battle with cancer. Doctors and nurses would constantly comment on her positive spirit. She handled each day with grace, dignity and strength. Robyn never complained about her pain or her situation. Her only concern was that she felt badly for her loved ones because she didn't want them to be sad. In Robyn's memory, please enjoy each day, pray each day, give thanks to God, be a loving spouse, embrace the gift of being a parent and don't be afraid to say, "I love you". Robyn's Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick's Church celebrated by Rev. Richard J. Kapral. Private interment will be made in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Friends are invited and may call 4-7 PM Friday at the Ironside Funeral Home, 342 Main Street, Oneida.
