Roberta J. "Bobbie" Wettstone
WALLINGFORD - Roberta J. "Bobbie" Wettstone, 81, of Ashlar Village, formerly of North Haven, devoted wife of more than 60 years to John A. Wettstone, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, at the Masonicare Health Center. Bobbie was born in Toledo, Ohio on Feb. 25, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Robert E. Balsinger and J. Eleanor (Asendorf) Metz. She was the beloved mother of Donna Klimowicz, of Cheshire, Cathleen (Gary) Shomsky, of Grand Rapids, Mich., David (Christine) Wettstone, of Brooklin, Ontario, Canada, and Robin (Kurt) Mustian, of St. Cloud, Minn. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sister, Marie Lou Hein, of Long Beach, Calif.; and her brother, Wayne (Marie) Metz, of Norwalk, Ohio. Bobbie graduated from Toledo Hospital School of Nursing (1956), and worked for the Town of North Haven. At the time of her retirement in 1994 she worked at Gaylord Hospital. She was an avid follower of UConn women's basketball team. She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church, North Haven. A special thanks to the loving and caring staff of Wooster 2 Hospice at Masonicare Health Center and the Argonauta at Pond Ridge. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
