He grew up on the family homestead with his siblings Theron Whitfield, Thelma Clossen (deceased) and Wanda Johnson. Early in his life, he married Ruth Elaine Bowen, with whom he had three children, Mark Robert, Gale Marie and Kale Lee (deceased). Bob was a true craftsman and spent much of his life as the owner of multiple Bob's Boot Repair shops in Brighton, the surrounding areas and as far away as Kansas. He was also a truck driver, mechanic and heavy equipment operator. There was nothing he could not drive or fix. He was by far the most talented bobcat operator ever, which is how he earned his nickname "Bobcat Bob." Survivors include Bob his wife; his children Mark Robert Whitfield (Connie) and Gale Marie Regan (Ted); grandchildren, Sarah Jeannine Luke, Chelsey Dianne Crittendon, Mark Ammon Whitfield and Levi Cammeron Whitfield; eight great-grandchildren from his immediate family; and many others through marriage. Bob Cat Bob was a handicraftsman who enjoyed spending time alone, making and fixing things. He will forever be missed. Bob's ashes will be scattered on the family homestead where he grew up on near Burnsville Miss.
