Robert M. Thompson CORINTH - Robert M. Thompson, 62, of Winslow Road, passed away Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016 at Glens Falls Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born on Feb. 6, 1954 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Kenneth “Louie” Thompson (Bonnie) and the late Barbara (Rhodes) Thompson. Rob graduated from Corinth High School in 1972. He married Roxanne E. DeGrechie on Feb. 7, 1970 in Corinth. The couple has lived in Corinth for many years. Rob was employed as a millwright for 26 years at the International Paper Co. in Corinth and then worked as a pipefitter for 10 years at Finch Paper in Glens Falls until his retirement in 2014. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, and was a founding member of the Flip Flop Horseshoe team in the Moreau Horseshoe League. Rob enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseshoes, NASCAR, NHRA, dirt track racing, and going to casinos. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and going to all his grandkids activities. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by a special uncle, Jim Thompson. Besides his wife, Roxanne of 46 years, he was also survived by three sons, Robert M. Thompson Jr. (Anna) of Corinth, Kenneth L. Thompson (Kim) of Porter Corners, and James P. Thompson (Melissa) of Corinth; five grandchildren, Britni (Brandon), Brayden, Morgan, Madison, and Noah; one great-grandson, Derrik; five siblings, Dale Thompson (Gail) of Benson, NC, Lynn Thompson (Bruce Hutchinson) of Hudson Falls, Rick Thompson (Lois) of Corinth, Kathy Dake (Grover) of South Corinth, and Sue Saunders (Ray) of Corinth; a special aunt, Vivian Thompson of Sebastian, Fla.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016 at the Densmore Funeral Home, Inc., 7 Sherman Ave., Corinth with Lane Schermerhorn, officiating. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 18, at the funeral home. Members of the Corinth Vol. Fire Department will pay their respects Tuesday evening at the funeral home. The family wishes to thanks Dr. John Stoutenburg, the special nurses and staff at the C. R. Wood Cancer Center, his co-workers at Finch Papers and fellow members of the Local Plumbers and Steamfitters Union 773, and family and friends for all the love, care, and support given during Rob’s illness. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations in Rob’s memory go to the Corinth Central School Booster Club, 105 Oak St., Corinth, NY 12822 or the C. R.
