Robert R. Strohl, 97, of Bethlehem, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016 in St. Luke's Hospice House, Lower Saucon Township. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Charles and Susan (Sherry) Strohl. Robert was a 1937 graduate of Liberty High School. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II and was part of the second invasion of the European Theater. Robert worked in the Communications Department of Bethlehem Steel for many years. He was a life-long member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Bethlehem. Robert enjoyed being a Musikfest volunteer and was an avid New York Giants football fan. Survivors: Daughter, Jody S. Boak and her husband William of Hinsdale, IL; son, Glenn M. Strohl and his wife Anita of Dallas, TX; and 10 grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by a sister Edytha Rockwell and brothers Charles, Elwood and Richard Strohl.
