Robert C. Schuetz
Robert Chester Schuetz, 75, Marthasville, passed away peacefully in his home Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, with his family by his side. Bob was born Oct. 28, 1941, in Washington, the son of Raymond Schuetz and wife Margaret, nee Holtmeyer. He worked as a head meat cutter for many years before he retired. Bob worked for Schnucks, National and Kroger, as well as operating his own meat processing business, J & B Meat Processing, Marthasville. He married Janet Gildehaus Sept. 6, 1986, in Holstein. They spent 30 wonderful years together. Bob was an avid outdoorsman and spent a lot of his free time hunting and fishing. He enjoyed hunting for deer and turkey. Bob also was a joker. He loved telling and playing jokes on his family and friends. Bob loved life and always had a smile on his face. He is survived by his loving wife, Janet Schuetz, Marthasville; one son, Doug Schuetz, Villa Ridge; four stepchildren, Kevin Engemann, LaVon Lamke (Lester), Mike Engemann, all of Marthasville, and Kenny "Fred" Engemann (Sheena), Washington; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Doris Wood and husband Bill, and LaVerne Nixon and husband Charles; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Straatmann, Doris Kopmann, and Carolyn Peters and husband Bob; three brothers-in- law, Dick Gildehaus, Harold Gildehaus and wife Carolee, and Dave Gildehaus and wife Judy; other relatives and many close friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Margaret Schuetz; one infant brother; one infant son; and one grandson, Landon Schuetz. Visitation was held at Martin Funeral Home, Marthasville, Tuesday, Feb. 14, from 3 to 8 p.m. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 10 a.m., also at the funeral home. Burial followed at St. Peter's United Church of Christ Cemetery, Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are preferred to St. Ignatius Catholic School or Holstein Immanuels United Church of Christ, Marthasville.
