Robert G. Raymond
Robert G. Raymond, age 85, of Taunton, passed away January 10, 2017, in Golden Living Wedgemere Nursing Home, following a lengthy illness. Robert is survived by his loving wife, Edith (Crosbie) Raymond of East Taunton. He was born in Cambridge, the son of the late Philip and Elizabeth (Malone) Raymond. Robert was a resident of East Taunton and was formerly of Stoughton and Fla. He attended Boston schools, was a graduate of South Boston High School and a graduate of Northeastern University. Robert was employed as a purchasing agent. He served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Air Force. Robert was a past commander of the VFW in Fla., he enjoyed twenty years of retirement in Fedhaven, Fla. He also enjoyed playing keyboard, woodworking, cooking and above all cherished his time with family. In addition to his wife, Robert leaves his children, Pam Houston and her husband John of Mattapoisett, Robert "Biff" Raymond and his wife Patti of Largo, Fla., Jason Raymond and his wife Shannon of Frisco, Colorado, Debbi Pope and her husband Edward of Middleboro, Robin Meehan and her husband John of St. Augustine, Fla., and Jason Raymond and his wife Shannon of Frisco, Colorado. He also leaves his grandchildren, Taylor, Nathan, Erin, Michael, Shannon, Norman, Jonathan, Kylie, Chelsey, Oliver, Elyssa and Abbey-Jo; his great-grandchildren, Justin, Jayson, Shayleigh, Tobias, Adrianna; and his great great-grandchild, Dominic. Robert was preceded in death by his siblings Philip and Richard Raymond and Phyliss Milligan and Dorothy Decker. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at OKeefe-Wade Funeral Home on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. Funeral from the OKeefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, on Friday, January 13, at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial in Holy Family Church in East Taunton at 11 a.m. A burial service will follow at Massachusetts National Cemetery at 1:45 p.m. Donations in Roberts memory may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 57, P.O.
