Robert A. Raymond
Robert "Bob" A. Raymond, 89, of Bedford, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 17, 2016, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Manchester, he was the son of the late Alfred and Mary (Maes) Raymond.
Robert proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy, from 1944 to 1956.
Following his military career, Bob was the owner and operator of Raymond Heating Oil for several years. Bob and his wife, Aurore, shared their passion for horses as the owners and operators of Double R/R Stables for over twenty years.
A dedicated husband, and father, Bob was the pillar of strength for his family. Bob's grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of his life. Affectionately known to many as "Papa", he extended his love to all those around him. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and horseback riding. Bob found great comfort in the companionship of his loyal best friend, Bruschi. Bob will be best remembered for his kind heart and love of family.
Robert is survived by his wife, Aurore (Chartier) Raymond, with whom he shared nearly 68 years of marriage; his daughter, Linda (Raymond) Cavanaugh and husband Paul of Goffstown; five grandchildren, Shannon, Paul Jr., Michael, Robby, and Audra; two great grandchildren, Quinn and Kennedy; sister, Lucille Baldumos of Manchester; several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Robert "Bobby" Raymond.
ARRANGEMENTS: His Visitation will be held in the Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., Manchester, on Wednesday, Oct. 19 from 4:00 to 7:00 followed by a Funeral Service at 7:00P.M. He will be laid to rest with Military Honors at the St. Joseph Cemetery, 448 Donald St., Bedford, on Friday, Oct. 21, at 10:30A.M. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Bob's memory to St. Mary's Bank (any location), In Memory of Robert Raymond, to assist the family with funeral arrangements.
