Robert Lee Rasberry Funeral services for Robert Lee Rasberry will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Cherry Grove Baptist Church in Mittie with Reverend Robbie Rollins and Reverend Gary Hahler officiating. Committal service will follow in the Hamilton Cemetery with full military rites, under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale. Robert, 77, of Grant, entered eternal rest on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at St. Patrick's Hospital in Lake Charles. He was born July 22, 1939 in Mittie to the union of Raymond Buel Rasberry and Viola Baggett Rasberry. He was a 1957 graduate from Fairview High School. He served in the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant. Robert retired from the Paper Mill Industry as a superintendent in shipping and finishing. He served as a basketball official for 40 years. His passion was attending ball games and watching his kids and grandkids play basketball. He loved the outdoors; especially mowing, fishing and gardening. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lawrence Eldon Rasberry; two sisters, Everill Andrade and Evelyn Ann Sibley. Those left behind to cherish his memory are: two sons, Stephan Rasberry of Elizabeth and Chad Rasberry (Bridgett) of Grant; four daughters, Selena Friday (Truman) of Elizabeth, Michelle Rasberry (Charles Ray) of Kinder, Jolene Rasberry (Allan) of Pitkin and Rochelle Winn (Gary) of Grant; two brothers, Ray (Betty) Rasberry of Grant and Richard Carlton Rasberry (Melba) of Plainview; twin sister, Robbie Ritchie of Grant; twelve grandchildren, Chance, Luke, Ryan, Kelby, Collin, Will, Kolby, Chesney, Sydni, Korby, Dakota and Cassle; two great grandchildren, Kooper and Livvy; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Pallbearers to serve will be his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers to serve will be his two granddaughters. Visitation will be held at Cherry Grove Baptist Church, Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m., then on Sunday, October 16, 2016 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. at church.
