Robert Leland "Bob" Moore
Robert Leland "Bob" Moore Bob Moore, 72, of Springfield, MO, passed away on October 11, 2016. He was born on July 26, 1944 in Aurora, Missouri. He graduated from Aurora High School and received a B.A. in History from Stanford University in 1966. He also completed his M.A. at Stanford in Communications and began his career as a partner in Veriation Films of Palo Alto, California. Bob produced and directed a number of award-winning documentaries and educational films between 1970-1990, including two locally well-known films, "Shannon County: Home" and "Shannon County: Hearts of the Children". As the Silicon Valley evolved in Northern California in the 1980's and 90's, Bob also explored many freelance projects in computer programming and design. Bob was married to Patricia Moore for thirty years. Since returning to Missouri in 2002, he has been an avid walker and racquet-ball player. He loved hiking the many beautiful, local nature trails and pursued a wide range of interests at the local library with books and audiobooks. Bob was preceded in death by his father and mother, Robert Leland, Sr. and E. Irene Moore of Aurora. He is survived by his son, Mason Leland; grandson, Marshall Leland; daughter, Jennifer Megan; sister, Betty Arnaud and her husband, Victor; along with many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. An informal memorial gathering will take place on Thursday, October 20 at 3:00 p.m. at the Boathouse at Lake Springfield Park, 5324 S. Kissick Avenue, Springfield, MO.
