In memory of
Robert and Dorothe Lorensen
Dorothe Mae Lorensen was born November 8, 1929 to William and Ruth Peterson. Robert Allen Lorensen was born September 24, 1930 to Ernest and Hilda Lorensen. Dottie and Bob both attended Brush High School and Dana College. They were married on October 23, 1949. In 1957 they moved from Brush to Fort Morgan where Dottie worked in the guidance counseling office at Fort Morgan High School and Bob served as the Assistant Manager at Safeway. Bob and Dottie had two sons, Keith and Paul. Paul suffered from juvenile diabetes requiring special loving care from his parents for much of his life until he passed away at the age of 52 on February 2, 2008. In 1971 the Lorensens moved to their farm near Brush. After "retirement" they enjoyed breeding and raising hogs and cattle. Throughout their lives Bob and Dottie loved to spend time outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening, and camping. Both were active charter members of the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Fort Morgan. Bob and Dottie moved to Pueblo, Colorado in April of 2017 to be closer to their son and his family. Dorothe passed away from a heart attack on May 25, 2017. Robert then moved into Bonaventure Memory Care where family and his beloved dog, Blue, could visit him daily. While under special care from Sangre de Cristo Hospice, Robert joined his beloved Dorothe in heaven on the morning of August 9, 2017. Dottie and Bob are survived by their son, Keith (Jennifer) Lorensen, and grandsons Eric (age 33) and Carl (age 25). We will honor Bob and Dottie's memory on Saturday, September 30, 2017, 11:00 AM at the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church (1100 W. Platte Ave., Fort Morgan, CO 80701) or to the charity of your choosing.
