Robert J. Kilray
Robert J. Kilray, 73, a longtime resident of Hartford, died on Monday, October 17, 2016, at home. He was predeceased by the late George and Mary (Kirby) Kilray, and by a brother, Edward. Bob was born in Hartford on May 30, 1943. He attended St. Augustine School, and graduated from Bulkeley High in 1961. After high school, Bob was employed by the State Department of Transportation for 36 years, retiring in 1997. He enjoyed his retirement watching his favorite teams (Red Sox, Uconn), photography, and reading. Bob leaves behind three brothers. George and his wife Margaret of New York, William and his wife Mary of Newington, Joseph and his wife Naomi of Rocky Hill, and his sister-in-law Patricia of Newington. He also leaves behind his nephews Tom, Mark, Pat, Bill, Brent, and Eric, and his nieces Ann, Kaitlin, and Erin, and grandnieces Devin, Mateya, and his grandnephew Mike. Bob also leaves a special friend Elisabeth Edwards of East Granby. A service will be held, Friday, October 21, 9:15 a.m., at the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 a.m., at St. Luke's Church, 66 Bolton Street, Hartford. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict's Cemetery, Bloomfield.
