Robert A. Hall
Robert A. Hall, age 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 13th. Robert, originally from New York City, was a resident at Fairhaven Retirement Community in Sykesville, MD. He is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Alice Flanagan Hall. A graduate of Bronx H.S. of Science, Mr. Hall attended King's Point, the US Merchant Marine Academy, and was a Korean combat veteran with the 45th Infantry Division. He earned BS in Engineering from Pratt Institute and his MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He retired in 1995 after a distinguished career in the Financial Industry as an EVP for Irving Trust Co. and CIO for Prudential Asset Management Group. After retirement, he consulted with his own firm, Mentor Strategies and volunteered with the International Executive Service Corps. Robert and Alice lived in Rockland NY from 1963-1985, raised three daughters. They lived in Chatham NJ from 1985-2006. Robert was a long time volunteer certified EMT and actively involved with emergency squads in Spring Valley, NY and Chatham NJ. He served on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Morris County, and was a member of the V.F.W. Post 164 of Chatham. Robert is survived by daughters Patricia Hall and Suzanne Hall Contrera, along with his son-in-law Joseph, and grandsons Jack and Andrew Contrera. He was predeceased by his daughter, Lorraine Alice Hall. A memorial service will be held at Fairhaven Chapel, 7200 Third Ave., Sykesville on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 3:00 PM.
