EUTAW – Robert ""Bob"" Finley, age 85, of Eutaw, Ala., died January 11, 2017, at Greene County Nursing Home. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2017, at Mesopotamia Cemetery with Paul Whitcomb officiating and Memory Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Morrow Finley; brother, Tom Finley; and sister, Norma F. Silva. Survivors include his son, Robert M. Finley (Trudi Glass Finley) of Eutaw; sister, Aline F. Williams of Eutaw; grandchild, Brooks Finley of Eutaw; and a host of nieces and nephews. Robert ""Bob"" Finley was born in Eutaw, Alabama on December 21, 1931. He was the son of the late T.M. and Mamie Coleman Finley. Bob graduated from Greene County High School. In 1952, Bob entered the United States Army and proudly served his county in the 57th Field Artillery Battalion in Korea. He served for 20 years in the Alabama National Guard in the 167th Engineer Company in Eutaw and the 200th Motor Division in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. At the time of his retirement, he had attained the rank of Captain. Bob was a proud member of the Eutaw United Methodist Church since April 21, 1946. He remained faithful to his church all of his life. As Chairman of Trustees, he made sure that all of the needs of the Eutaw United Methodist Church were met. Bob enjoyed deer, turkey and duck hunting and fishing for bass and crappie. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family, especially his grandson, Brooks. Pallbearers will be Pat Morris, David Morrow, Darrell O'Briant, Perry Solomon, Frank Lewis, Jr. and Grayfield Hamilton, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Lewis Hamilton, Ben Yeager, Gary McGalliard, Chalmus Barkley, the staff of Greene County Nursing Home, friends and neighbors of Two Rivers subdivision and caregiver, Stephanie Keil Woods.
