Robert J. Dour
GLEN ROCK - Robert J. Dour, 93, died on Oct. 15. Born and raised in Brooklyn, he resided in Fair Lawn for many years before moving to Glen Rock 10 years ago. A faithful and active parishioner of St. Catharine R.C. Church in Glen Rock, he served as a lector, altar server and was a member and past president of the Association of Mature Parishioners (AMPS). An avid reader, Bob enjoyed traveling, crossword puzzles and spending time with family especially his grandchildren. He was a loyal N.Y. Mets fan. Prior to retiring, he was employed as a chartering specialist with P&O Shipping in New York City for 26 years. He was the husband of the late Catherine "Kate" (Burke) Dour. He is survived by his children: Robert Dour, Jr. and wife Linda, Michael Dour and wife Krysia, Christopher Dour and wife Cynthia and Daniel Dour and wife Ellen, his brother Paul Dour and his eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, Oct. 18 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn. A Funeral Mass is planned for Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 10 a.m. at St. Catharine R.C. Church, 905 South Maple Ave. in Glen Rock. Interment will follow at Christ the King Cemetery in Franklin Lakes. Memorial donations may be made to St. Catharine R.C. Church.
